You can’t beat a getaway to northern Minnesota, so here are some inspirations to plan your next trip…
- Wildlife Viewing. Enjoy the drive to the lodge or embark on a sunrise/sunset animal viewing tour. Keep your eyes peeled for our local neighbors: the moose, fox, lynx, bald eagles, and so much more. Remember this is their home and you should not disrupt or approach them.
- Watch the Snow Fall. Or play in it! Embrace the coziness winter and slowdown from daily life. A winter vacation into our snowglobe may be just the rejuvenation you need mid-winter.
- See the Northern Lights. This bucket list item doesn’t require long flights. Viewing the northern lights is an unbeatable experience.
- Catch a Walleye. Lake Saganaga is home to Minnesota’s record Walleye! Get out on the water, even in the winter! and see if you can beat it!
- Spend Time with Friends and Family. The best part of being in the wilderness, is enjoying it with the best people!
- Berry Picking. Wild berries can be a wonderful treat on a hot day while out hiking! Visit Cook County even hosts a blueberry contest to see who can pick the biggest blueberry! This is held summer from mid-July to mid-August.
